Stepping Away From The Screens And Embracing Nature PART 1.

Pepsi Next is the new breed of cola. Pepsi Next has naturally less sugar*, it’s sweetened naturally with stevia and, of course, has the great cola taste you love.

I was flicking trough some old photos on my computer recently and it suddenly dawned on me what has been missing in our lives here at Chaos HQ lately.

With the hustle and bustle of every day life, plus a scorching hot summer, we have basically spent the last 2 months planted in front of screens in air-conditioned rooms with little conversation and definitely no together time fun.

There has been the odd visit to the park etc but no where near what we used to do to keep busy and these photos were the perfect reminder of how much fun you can have as a family when you drop the screens and get out doors to enjoy each others company.

During 2010, we traveled down to Melbourne Zoo to check out all our favourite animals.

It was an amazing learning experience for the MonsterSquad and a great bonding time as a family.

The memories that we all have from this family trip are nothing short of fabulous, so I am now planning our next trip down, which will be Elijah’s first Zoo visit.

Along side a zoo visit, I am compiling a list of all sorts of other things we can do as a family out-doors, in nature without the computer screens.

Leave us your suggestions in the comments of this blog post and let me know what your family gets busy doing together in the outdoors.

  1. Love the melbourne zoo 🙂 We love camping with our camper trailer and going for family bike rides too 🙂

  2. I so agree that outdoor time together as a family without distractions from tv/computers/iphones etc is SO important! And with the weather it is proving more difficult! 9months of freezing cold and rain, then 3months of heat waves over 30deg! Doesn’t leave much of those beautiful “perfect” weather days for getting out. We love a bush walk among the trees with our kids…recently did a gorgeous short walk in Creswick’s Sawpit Gully – highly recommend!
