Stop The Chaos- School Holiday Planning 101- PRINTABLE Chart

Last school holidays just about did my head in. Without a word of a lie I was ready to throw my hands up in the air, admit defeat and run screaming down the street never to be seen again.

Of course we have all felt like this at some point, and we all know I wouldn’t really do such a thing, but lets just say it came dangerously close.

I totally blamed the weather of course. Being the winter holidays and raining non stop meant that I had the 6 kids trapped inside the house for most of the time.

Then I blamed my hubby. How dare he not take any holidays during the holidays to help me juggle the monsters.

Then, I cried. I felt like I had failed as a mother because all I heard day in and day out was fighting, arguing and the persistent “I’m bored” and I had nothing left to give them. Complete and utter exhaustion at its finest…..

So this time around I am falling back on my ‘childcare training’ and I am going to write up a plan. A chart that displays what we’re going to do at different times of the day. I will program these upcoming 2 weeks of school holidays as though I was programing the Vacation Care program where I worked.

This will give me an outline of what we can do each day, and it will be there for the children to read and get to know what’s going on.

A few things I may incorporate in the plan are:

* Cooking Activities

* Outdoor Adventures

* Movie Marathon

* Picnic & Park

* Visit at a friends

* Have friends come and visit

* Sleep Over Party

* Craft

* Games – Wii & PS3

* Gardening

* Family Day Out

* Sports/Swimming

I am also going to attempt to keep the budget fairly low these holidays as well. We’re creeping up on Christmas and with my hubby facing knee surgery, we need to budget everything down to the last cent.

So that’s the plan. I will update again soon with my filled in planner.

Be sure to let me know if the School Holiday Planner comes in handy for you!
