Disney’s LION KING 2 & 3 – MonsterSquad Movie Review + Blu-Ray GIVEAWAY!!!

Monster Squad Movie Night is a weekly event at Chaos HQ.

We try to keep to a routine and it has become quite a ritual that the kids really look forward to every Friday night.

A few weeks ago, we all sat down thanks to the kind folk at Disney, to watch The Lion King 2 & The Lion King 3.

Being massive fans of the original Lion King movie, we were all keen to see what the next installment had to offer us.

HERE ARE SOME FREE PRINTABLE COLOURING PAGES FOR THE KIDS TO USE! SIMPLY CLICK AND DOWNLOAD THEM!

For the first time in Common Chaos history, at the request of the monster herself, I have opened up my blog for a guest post and today’s guest post has been written by my daughter Aria who has recently turned 8 years old and has a much developed love of writing!

So without further ado, here is Aria’s review of the movies, and do continue to read on as she has a special GIVEAWAY to go with her guest post!

Family Movie Night – By Aria

Last movie night we watched The Lion King 2 & 3.

The Lion King 2 follows on from The Lion King 1.

Kiara, who is Simba’s daughter is adventurous just like Simba was as a cub.

Kiara meets Kovu, a cub from the evil Scar’s pride.

The cubs become good friends against their parents wishes.

As they grow older, they want to reunite the 2 enemy prides.

The Lion King 3 is about Timon and Pumbaa.

It is very very funny.

We laughed the whole time.

Timon and Pumbaa tell the story of how they saved and met Simba in their own funny way.

I would tell my friends to watch these movies because they are so fun to watch,

and the lions are super duper cute.

We have 2 BLU-RAY copies of each movie to give away on Common Chaos Chronicle so that’s 2 lucky people that will win a copy of each.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post telling us what your favourite part of the original LION KING movie is. It’s that simple. Then you will go into to the draw to win.

With a movie like Lion King its so hard to choose There's so many scenes that entertain and amuse! I love the whole concept of the Circle Of Life And Scar's hurtful actions cut like a knife Simba runs off and tries to find his way Lucky Timon and Pumba are there, come what may When Rafiki tells Simba his dad's spirit lives on Simba realises his father's not gone He lives in the hearts of those that he knew And Simba realises what he has to do He returns to Pride Rock to be the King To save his land, he will do anything. Lion King is so lovely, it touches my heart But I really can't choose just one favourite part!

Good job Aria! I think me may have a little writer on our hands :) I love the Lion King, but my favourite part would be when Simba looks up at the stars and explains to Timone and Pumba that he believes the stars are the Kings from the past watching down on them all. I think it's very sweet and it also leads onto Rafiki (who is my favourite character) finding out Simba is still alive! So hard to pick a favourite though! All the songs are amazing too!

Great job Aria. My daughter, Evie is five and only just learning to write. I hope that winning and watching movies like Lion King 2 and 3 will inspire her to write a bit too .... fingers crossed! My favourite part of the original Lion King movie is when Timon and Pumbaa are looking at starts and they say: Timon: They're fireflies, that got stuck up in that big, bluish-black thing. Pumbaa:Oh. I always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away. Timon: Pumbaa, with you, everything's gas. Makes me laugh every time I see that section of the movie, which is a favourite for Miss Five and I so I have seen it so many times, I've lost count! I love this section because Pumbaa's definition of starts is scientifically correct, and it mentions gas. Hubby too has an issue with flatulence!

Fantastic review! I haven't yet seen no. 2 and 3 but now I want to. My fave part about the original is the fact that grown ups love it as much, if not more than the kids. So the whole family can enjoy it together :)

I love when Simba sings "I just can't wait to be king". It's such a clever and funny song :)

I've just asked my 7yo son (who's home sick today) what his favourite part is and after much umming and ahhing he declared that he loved the whole movie!
