How Do I Keep Motivated? It’s Monday Motivation time!

Here at Chaos HQ I am forever receiving emails and Facebook messages from my valued Common Chaos Chronicle readers inquiring about how I keep myself motivated, not only in day to day life, but also with my fitness and health goals.

Today I am sharing with all of you, just one of the methods I use to help keep me on track and to remind myself not to stop doing what I am doing each day.

And here it is……

Pinterest. It’s like a virtual images pin board, of anything and everything you can think of that allows you to pin and store the images you love for future reference.

If you’re not following my boards on Pinterest yet, click HERE to check out what takes my fancy.

I like a bit of everything on there, but my fitness and motivation board is titled ‘Pebble Motivation’ if you’re looking for it!

I don’t spend too much time on Pinterest, as I find it quite addictive, but I like to use it while waiting in the car at school pick up, while I sit in waiting rooms and so on. Sometimes a clever quote of a funny image is enough to snap my mind out of the ‘Cant’s’ and right back into the ‘Cans’ again.

Here are a few of my favourite motivational pins right now:

Ain’t that the truth? Nothing worse than being constantly pulled back down by people that are working against you. If you have a friend that spurs you on, catch up with them. Catch up with anyone that believes in you and your ability to succeed. Be inspired everyday and focus on that.

When I first started doing my Personal Training workouts, I was forever telling my trainer that he was a madman, because there was no way in the world I could do the things he expected me to be able to do. After much convincing, I would give these things a try and would leave the sessions shocked each time at the fact that I COULD actually do such things. We are all so much stronger than we think and I still tell myself this each session.

I use this motivation in anything that I do throughout the day. When I feel myself starting to make excuses as to why I can’t put washing on, make a healthy dinner, go for my morning walk, visit friends and so on, I remind myself that I need to be stronger than my excuses.

dreams and plans

I really love this saying because I have felt for a long while now that since becoming a parent, I have really lost a sense of who I am. My dreams and plans have been on hold for the last 10 years, but they shouldn’t be. I can still be an awesome parent, and be myself as well. So I have some dreams and plans again that I work towards little by little each day, and I would recommend setting them to anyone that’s feeling a little lost in the mundane!

And now for some funny pins….

Dino run

Every time I see this image I laugh. I think it pretty much sums up how I felt when I started my weight-loss mission. If I had been any less motivated to exercise back then, I would have needed a T-rex to chase me to get me moving!

hangover guy

The Hangover movies were rather funny when I saw them, but my gosh I cracked up when I came across this pin recently. If I had a dollar for every time I have ranted the words “I think you’re trying to kill me” at my trainer, I’d be a wealthy woman. Did I die? No. Even though I felt like I was going to sometimes πŸ˜‰ LOL

HAHAHA, this funny pin is dedicated to my walking buddy. We’re forever joking about how hot we’re going to be once we’ve lost our excess weight, and the laughs are endless throughout our crazy conversations as we pound the pavement at crazy o’clock each morning!

And this one is also for my walking buddy who, when we’re not talking hilarious funny stuff, listens to my continuous whinging and whining and moaning without judgement or criticism. Now when I get on a whinging roll, I imagine her saying to me…. “Of course it burns, but complaining wont make you look good naked!” HAHAHAHA.

pepsi please

I’m not on the protein shakes myself, but every time I look at this image, I think of my protein shake drinking brother, and how he never gives up on his fitness goals. He inspires me with his dedication, and drive with everything that he does.

This is me…. to a tee! I hate being all sweaty and gross. But I do it, because I have to in order to reach my goals.

You are what you eat…..Β  BAHAHAHA. A good reminder that whatever I eat has an impact on my weight loss success. It’s not all just about the exercise and working out. Nutrition is so important. I cannot stress that enough! But wouldn’t it be nice to sit down to a meal and leave the table a ‘sexy beast’??? HAHAHA

No matter what your dreams are, don’t give up on them. It’s that simple.

4 weeks

I am 4 months into my PT sessions and I am only just starting to see the changes in myself now. I am so glad that I was talked out of quitting when I become so disheartened with numbers on scales and not being able to see a change. My fitness now, in comparison to when I started is has improved incredibly. I just keep willing myself to keep at it.

This is my excuse for the crazy 5am wake ups to go walking through frosts and rain and icy cold winds…. I swear I’m up and walking before I actually even wake up! Just do it. You won’t regret it!

Audrey was really on to something with this quote. Believe it.

And lastly…… (oh and if you don’t like swearing please look away now πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ )

This image goes out to my PT trainer, who inspires and motivates me each and every day. He keeps it real (which is what we all love around here), tells me like it is and most of all, does not give up on me when I think I have given up on myself.Β  I cannot thank him enough for noticing that I needed help, offering to help me achieve my goals and kicking my backside into gear. The guy deserves a medal! LOL

So there you go, just one of the many things I do to help keep me motivated every day. To view the images and their sources head over to my board on Pinterest and check out the other images I have been pinning too!

CPV Blog Header

Chris from CPV Fitness has been dedicating his time to train me, given me nutritional advice and has listened to countless hours of whinging about how this and that hurts and how I have nothing to wear because nothing no longer fits (#winning) and so on. I’d love it if you guys could stop by his FB Page and give him some LIKE love. Thanks xox.
