This past week has seen us bite the bullet and go out and purchase a treadmill.
Well getting out and walking has proved difficult on several occasions and having a walking machine at home is just far more convenient at the moment. We have had gale force winds, constant rain, icy days and with 6 kids in tow, the walking was definitely losing it’s appeal factor.
I dont like exercise. I never have. It’s just not something that comes to me naturally. I used to say “music is my sport”, but now when my life is somewhat on the line I am going to learn to like it one way or another.
Walking is the easiest exercise I can do. If I am going to do it, I’m going to do it in good company or in complete peace. Certainly not something I can achieve with all the kids in tow. I came home from an hour and a half walk fuming and cursing and I knew at that very moment that the tready was for me!
So I have been walking every evening between 45mins -1hour and am loving the ease of it all. No bad weather to contend with, kids are in bed, hubby is happy for me to walk while he watches telly. Ahhh bliss.
This morning was my week 2 weigh in. After losing a whopping 4.7kgs in my week 1 weigh in, I knew not to expect much this week. I jumped on the scales hoping to see a loss. I didnt care how much I lost, as long as it was a loss.
I was quite surprised when I did the figures and realised I had lost another 1.8kgs this week, bringing my total weight-loss in the last 2 weeks to 6.5kgs.
I’m happy. I’ve reached my 1st goal and will reward myself with a new outfit!
My next goal is to lose a total of 10kgs, so I can add a new handbag to my outfit.
The best reward for me will be when I start to notice the difference. When clothes start getting baggy, when my aches and pains start to disappear. It’s going to be a long road, but I am keen and looking forward to seeing results…
