Week 3 – My Weightloss Journey – Keeping Committed.

What a week!

This past week has been a big test on my behalf. It was the 2nd week of the winter school holidays. I was trapped indoors most of the time with 6 bored children and a dog.

I was tired, really tired and to top it off, ‘that’ time of the month was upon me again.

I was craving sugar, feeling lethargic and generally unmotivated. I pushed through and only made a few little mistakes along the way. I think it’s important that I acknowledge them here so I can look back and see if it has made a heap of difference in the long run.

Mistake 1 – I did not drink enough water. Some days I was lucky to drink half a bottle, other days it was a few mouthfuls while I took some Panadol.

Mistake 2 – I drank a can of Jim Beam & Cola. Sadly I gave in to peer pressure and had one can, only later to find out that you can now purchase Jim Beam & Coke Zero!! Bah!!!! I will say here though, after that one can, I was on a definite sugar buzz. After consuming next to no sugar for nearly 3 weeks, one can had me laying awake with my eyes wide open for hours and hours!

Mistake 3 – My meal planning fell by the wayside during the holidays and lack of organisation & having guests over saw us spoil the children with Mcdonalds for dinner. I stuck to havingΒ  just the Sweet Chilli Wrap but still felt bad that I was eating it.

Mistake 4 – Yesterday my hubby had an RDO so we went out and had some lunch together. We chose Subway, as it was the better of the available choices. I had a Sweet Onion & Teriyaki Chicken sub, but I said yes to the ‘footlong’ and to the cheese. TISK TISK!!!!

So there you have it. All my confessions out in the open!!!! LOL

Anyway, after the week that I had, and the fact that I drank 2 full bottles of water whilst walking on the treadmill last night, I expected to get on the scales this morning to discover a weight gain. I certainly did not expect to lose anything this past week.

The scales revealed that I had lost another 1/2 a Kilo (500grams).

This brings my total weight loss in the last three weeks to 7kg. So glad I didn’t put any weight on!!!

I must admit even though I wasn’t expecting a loss at all, I was disappointed in myself when the numbers only changed slightly from last week. It really has given me a kick in the pants to take it up a notch and increase my movement and watch my eating.

Hitting the target goals

I am going to finish this post with a small list of my goals for this week.

* I want to walk everyday (on land or on treadmill) for a minimum of 1 hour at a time.

* I am going to cut down my coffee intake to 3 cups per day.

*I am going to drink 3+ bottles of water everyday.

* I am going to keep on top of my housework, therefor increasing my incidental exercise and keeping a tidy house!

Wish me luck this week. I need to lose 3kgs to get that new handbag I want!!!! πŸ™‚

      Keep up the good work (",) It's probably cheaper to mix a bourbon and coke zero your self! You did well for school holidays!

      Thanks Halina, we had guests over and I was offered (badgered into having) one of their cans. I don't drink that often at all, when we do we usually mix our own drinks though. The school holidays were tough. I'll have to be much more prepared next time. Jac xo

      I think you did very well to survive school holidays with no sugar & only one drink! As I sit here & read how well you did I am eating my way through a packet of chocolate biscuits so don't be so hard on yourself!

    5. Well done, you! Any loss is great! I was reading recently that too much water is not good for you. I try to drink 8 x 250mls of water and by the 6th glass I am in pain and very bloated. My system just cannot get rid of (process) that much water during the day. I think they have knocked it back to 6 glasses a day as a guide. Keep up with that exercise and try and modify things you like to eat into healthy ones. Cheers!

    6. Well done you - keep the motivation up. I found when I lost a lot of weight lately to keep a packet of sugar-free polos (or any sugar free mints) on me. Then if bored or peckish I'd pop a mint in my mouth and felt a bit better ! And only 74 cals in a whole pack of sugar free polos. Also drinking a full glass of water before a meal did result in me eating slightly less too :) x Keep up the good work !

Well done Jac, that is 15lbs so you have done really well, pick up 7kgs of lard in the supermarket and just think that is what you have lost and that is pure fat. so congratulations and even when you have lost only half a kilo pick that up in the super market and think I have lost that and that is pure fat. it helps because when you think oh I have only lost half a kilo remember that. I am so proud of you and your health wil improve too. love you loads xxxxxxxxxxx

    8. Well Done Jac!! A loss is a loss hun, I believe you will have a better week this week. You recognised your weaknesses, owned them publicly and it will help you get to that handbag!! 7kg well done!!

      Jac...that is still awesome. When you said mistakes I was expecting chocolate, lollies etc...that's my kind of mistakes!!!! What you did was only minor. You really do inspire me, well done xx
