Week 7 and 8 Of My Weight-Loss Journey.

This week I am combining week 7 & week 8 in the one blog post as I ran out of time last week to let you all know how I went.

This week was by far my biggest ‘stuff up’ week. Looking back, there weren’t just a few things that I would’ve changed, there were several things that I was disappointed in.

And I think I know why….

I was mentally and physically exhausted. Too tired to cook, to tired to plan, to tired to move. So tired that for the entire week, I craved sugars, chocolates, sweet instant energy boosts. Junk food became appealing again and eaten on more than one occasion.

Left over take-away pizza

We had guests stay with us that shouted our family pizza.Β  My will power was so shot down I couldn’t help but have a slice…. or 3…

The end of each day came around and I found myself avoiding the treadmill. I had nothing left to give.

Then as I reluctantly stepped onto my scales for my weekly weigh-in, the scales packed it in and completely stopped working.

So after wasting far too much time trying to get them working again, I used my Wii Fit board to weigh myself later that evening. It was no surprise to me at all when it bleeped out the bad news for me.

The Wii Fit Board

I had put on 900 grams.

My first gain in this whole journey and I felt more depressed than ever.

Today I didn’t know what to expect when I jumped on the Wii Fit board for my weigh-in. I had a week of outings and lunches-out, I did some exercise but not as much as I usually do and exhaustion was still playing a major role in my daily life.

It came as much surprise when the numbers came up and showed that I had lost 1.9kgs this past week.

That brings my total weight-loss for the past 2 months (8 weeks) to a whopping 11.1kgs.

This is me on day 1 of my weightloss journey. YUK!

Now, I really don’t feel any different and with this much weight to lose, I know it will take a lot for me to notice.

But the most uplifting part of this journey so far, is when friends and family have turned around and out of the blue noticed a difference in my appearance.

My favourite comment by far was from a dear friend that I hadn’t really seen much over the last month or so who looked me up & down and said “You’re looking way more streamlined” Bahahahahhaha hilarious! (and I have never ever thought of myself as streamlined!!! GOLD!!)

That really means alot to me, much more than the numbers on the scales.

So today I am exhausted, but really really happy. I am inspired to keep up my hard work and to not ever see those 11.1kgs again.

My next mini goal is to lose another 8.9kgs before the 22nd of October.

Why the 22nd of October you say??? Because I am headed to Melbourne once again for Problogger’s Blogging Event and you guessed it…… I want a new outfit ….

Hahahaha πŸ™‚

    9. Jac, I have been following your comments on The Shrinking Housewife, but today is the first time I've got to your blog. OMG, you are doing amazing!!! I've lost 25 kg over all, and I thought I did awesome with 11.1 in 12 weeks, but in 8 that is fantastic! Don't panic if you have a plateau period now, it's just you're body re adjusting itself. Mostly you will build muscle which will change your measurements but won't show much on the scales. If you had a bowl of muscle and a bowl of fat and weighed them, the muscle would weigh more than the fat! Always keep that in mind, I have to still with 5kg to go. Also, try (I know the scales dying didn't help) to weigh yourself at the same time of day under the same conditions, ie before breakfast, with similar weighted clothes (or birthday suit) etc. That way you can compare week to week easier :) WELL DONE!! HIP HIP HORRAY!!!!! x

Thanks for your support Beck! Sounds like you're doing pretty awesome yourself :-) Im a bit disappointed that I never took measurements when I first started, but I guess when the clothes start falling off me, I will be able to tell! Pictuees tell 1000 words and I have a fair few rotten piccies!!!! Lol. Thanks again, Jac xo
